WordPress and Hubspot CMS
WordPress, Hubspot and other headless or flat file CMS will give enormous flexibility and lift the website to a completely different level.
I bet that you know at least one person who claims that a content management system (shortly CMS) for a simple website is not needed. Among most common arguments are doubts that it will be hard to learn how to use admin environment, content will never be changed or there will be no person who will maintain or administer the content on the website.
Even though I respect all opinions of various businesses and people, I will always favor for content management system for even the smallest web project – and here is why…
Let’s assume client chooses not to have admin part (I guess we can call CMS so) and has only few pages with some paragraphs of 300 words on the website “Let’s hardcode everything in the code!” – client says.
As I developer I can do this, but what if phone number is changed after few months? Or more services are added in the upcoming year? What if client wants to have “Not working today” message and go for a vacation?
If all texts and images are hardcoded, most likely a developer (me or some other web developer) will be needed to access the correct file and change the text there.
In some cases it will be something like footer.php file or any other easily accessible file, but there also can be template part files or any kind of partials which are injected into the main page.
Sometimes to change just few lines of hardcoded content some re-bundling of the theme files is needed and what if this causes some cache delays…
Using a CMS everything can be done super easily from the mobile phone or PC.
Another huge advantage of the CMS is the ability to have blog or some pages with most important information under the separate link (URL). Obviously social networks and posts are a great way to reach your potential audience, but some information need to be accessed for a long time and shared via an easy link.
With content management system you can create as many additional pages as you want and have specific style or structure as well as unique URL, which can be shared and re-used in every situation.
I am in no way related to WordPress or Hubspot teams, but I have used those CMS’es while working with various companies and clients to just have an impression that every web project should have some sort of CMS!
It does not matter if you use DB based WordPress, more modern headless or a flat file CMS, proper content management system with cleverly developed theme page templates and modules will give enormous flexibility scaling up the website to a completely different level. I have used and developed websites with WordPress and Hubspot platforms that allow web admins and content coordinators to build promotion pages or additional pages within the matter of minutes.
